The last quarterly meeting was held on 11-23-02 at Camp Blanding, FL, and hosted by Bud Nelson. Officers present were President Todd Hansford, V.P. Bob Murty, and Secretary Joanne Hansford. Treasurer Alan Byers was not present.  Motion was made to hold elections by Todd Hansford and seconded by Bill Hines.  Nominations for president were Bob Weeks, Dick Deren and Bob Murty, who all declined and Bud Nelson who accepted.  Nominations for secretary were Bill Martin who declined and Diane Deren, who accepted.  The vote was unanimous for both positions.

A Motion was made to accept the minutes of the last meeting. Treasurer's report was read by Todd Hansford.

OLD BUSINESS:  Mark Copeland gave his report on investigating the club having  its own web site. The free sites had too many pop-up ads.  It was recommended that we go with a company that would give us a more professional appearance, at a cost of approximately $65 per year.  Motion was made by Dick Deren, seconded by Bill Morton, and passed.  Mark Copeland volunteered to be Web Master.  A vote was taken by those in attendance to agree upon a Webmaster.  With no objections, Mark Copeland was voted in as Webmaster.  Diane Deren recommended that the donation from Gateway Christian Church for $60. be used for the web site.

A motion was made to set the address for the web site.  A vote was taken on the address "www.flmvpa.org".  The motion carried.  The web site will be www.flmvpa.org.

New FFC Applications need to be ordered with the new officers’ names, etc. printed on green paper.  Diane Deren will have them run off.

Thanks were given to Diane Deren, E-Mail Schedule Coordinator, for her e-mail updates. Send info on new events to her on d.deren@worldnet.att.net

The AUCTION PROGRAM which had been proposed as a fund raiser was voted on to be discontinued since it was unsuccessful . The artwork contributed by Tommy Thompson, which was never sold, is to be returned to him.

AREA COORDINATORS REPORTS:

NORTHERN REGION - Bud Nelson thanked everyone for coming.

WESTERN REGION - Dick Deren reported on two Veteran’s Day activities. He also asked to be replaced as Western Regional Coordinator

NEWSLETTER EDITOR: Dick Deren thanks everyone for contributing articles and photos for the newsletter.

The next Statewide Meeting for the first quarter will be arranged by Charlie Craven to be held in January 2003  - info to follow.

T-Shirts to be sold by the club were again discussed.  Earle Byers is to check on the old club logo. Dale Aylward has volunteered to design a new T-Shirt.  Peter Rebernig said he can order them at low rates.  Todd Hansford said that we need 3 bids per the bylaws.

JUST JEEPS, a book written by FFC member Bill Frederick is for sale with half the profits going to the FFC.  It was voted on to pay for Bill’s 2002 and 2003 dues from the proceeds.  Contact Earle Byers for books.

A LIFETIME MEMBER category was discussed. Motion made by Earle Byers and seconded by Bill Hines.  A committee will research this.  Joe Lorentzson will be Chairman, with Bill Vose and Earle Byers as members.

SPRINGTIME TALLAHASSEE will be held in April 2003. Joe Lorentzson reported that a display of vehicles at the Museum was needed.  Rooms and meals may be provided.  Russell Dees will coordinate this event.

A STATEWIDE WEEKEND was suggested. It would be held one time yearly, at a location where we could reserve a block of rooms at a discount price, possibly have a sit-down dinner,  and coordinate it with some local event.  Each region could take turns hosting.  The last time this was done was in St. Augustine several years ago.  A registration fee (maybe $25) might pay for the dinner.  We need feedback from members to see if there is any interest in this (as well as volunteers).

It was suggested that the POW/MIA emblem might become a chapter project.  It could be displayed on the spare tire or on a tire cover.  Need to find out if it is copyrighted and if we would need permission to do this.

BASEBALL CAPS were discussed.  After we get our logo,  we might want to sell them in addition to/instead of T-Shirts.  Bill Vose knows a manufacturer.

Dick Deren presented a color photo to Lamar Rowland of Lamar receiving a First Place award at the MVPA National Convention in Dallas, from “Marilyn Monroe.”

Joe Lorentzson thanked Bud Nelson for arranging for the meeting, lunch, shopping spree at the PX and trail ride held at Camp Blanding.

Motion to adjourn was made by Dick Deren and seconded by Joe Lorentzson.
